About Anita

I am a Certified Master Teacher and Huna Kane  practitioner who is also practiced in Acupressure, Myofacial Release, Qigong Healing methods, Cupping, Tui Na, and Shiatsu. I am a certified Level III Qigong instructor and Breathwork Facilitator trained to teach Qigong exercise forms, facilitate and teach healing breathwork techniques, and a food-based healing system. I am also a Breathing Practitioner who assesses and trains people to breathe more mindfully to overcome physiological responses that overbreathing patterns can create (i.e., emotional, perceptual, cognitive, attention, behavioral, and physical deficits that may serioulsy impact health and performance).

Currently, I am studying to be an Herbalist through the The East West School of Herbology and a member of the American Herbalist Guild. My education background also includes a M.S. in Environmental Health (Colorado State University (CSU)), B.S. in Geology (University of Michigan), and the secondary science teacher licensure program (CSU).

Qigong-Training

I have been a Reiki practitioner for over 10 years. My primary occupations have all been focused in the arena of experiential education. For nearly 13 years, I have been a teacher and coordinator for science education outreach programs based out of various universities. In one grant-funded program, I taught hands-on, inquiry, and technology-based curriculum about the heart, healthy lifestyles, and cardiovascular disease to diverse middle school students and teachers. Additionally, I have been teaching other science programs about DNA, wildfires, weather, Colorado ecosystems, watershed awareness, water-related curricula, and have been teaching skiing for over 24 years (PSIA Level III Certified Telemark and Level II Alpine Ski Instructor). For last 14 years, I have taught, exclusively; telemark skiing to enable people to explore the backcountry with greater ease. Prior to my work in science education, I was an environmental scientist for over 10 years.

After the grant funding for my last primary occupation ended, I decided to follow my dream and create a wellness practice — Mountain Sage, Inc. After perfecting the recipe for my Muscle & Joint Pain Relief formulas that I have been making for over 6 years, the timing felt right to make them available to the public. At the same time, I completed the four levels of the Huna Kane Body Alignment and two levels of BO-SSAGE training. I am passionate about offering both the Huna Kane and Reiki practices, producing my formulas, and leading people toward health and wellness.

My entire life, I have been fascinated with merging science and metaphysics. As a teenager, I became even more aware of the strength of my intuition when I “knew” of my distant father’s death before it was communicated to me. As similar occurrences happened throughout my life, I actively sought answers to what I was sensing and experiencing. As a result of my life experiences and coming to an understanding of the intuitive process, it has become an integral part of my wellness practice. As I work on clients, I inform them of what I sense to help them release old patterns, heal relationship issues, and/or move toward a greater sense of empowerment to help them heal themselves. My intention is to enable people to weave together their body, mind, and spirit toward peace, contentment, love, and joy.

My intuition also brought me to Colorado over 28 years ago. I knew, from the time I was sixteen years old, that this is home. I enjoy immersing myself in the activities of the mountains because they resonate with my spirit and help me feel one with all — especially, in those moments when I feel off-center and need to feel more connected.
